Who it is for · ideas

So that ideas are not lost and get tested

An idea has a page with arguments for and against, and a hypothesis has a deadline and a condition for failure.

What work this is about

A thought is written down, put aside and a month later comes back again — without what was already understood about it. Here each idea has one page that collects everything said about it.

Example

A thought from the phone
“What if the first meeting happened in writing instead of a call?”
Life OS
  • Idea page
Argument for — it is easier for a person to answer in writing, when it suits them
  • Argument against
In writing you cannot hear where a person hesitates
  • Found earlier
You already wrote about this on 12 September — in other words

Three situations

“I have thought about this before.” A question to your own records finds earlier records on the same topic, even if the words were different.

“Why did I decide otherwise back then?” The idea page has every argument with its date, including those that later turned out wrong: they are struck through, not deleted.

“What should I test?” An idea that is ready to be tested becomes a hypothesis with a deadline and a condition under which it counts as wrong.

Which parts are involved

You can ask about your people, work and records in plain words and get an answer with links.
Each idea has its own page that collects every argument for and against — with the date and whose it is.
One place records where attention is now and which assumptions are being tested.
Records gather into groups by meaning, and you can see what you think about most often.

One day

You write down a thought from the phone. In the evening you discuss it with the system: it finds what you wrote about it before and adds arguments from both sides to the idea page. What to do next is still up to you.
